Gandra asks DGP to book Talasani Hyderabad, July 19 (INN): Senior Congress leader and former MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy on Sunday alleged that Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav did not submit his resignation letter as TDP MLA to Speaker S Madhusudan Chary.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Gandra accused Talasani of becoming the minister by lying that he had resigned from his post. He said it was against the law for an MLA of opposition party to join the cabinet without resigning from his post. He released a letter issued by Legislature Secretariat in response to his RTI plea stating that it was not in receipt of resignation letter by Talasani. He demanded that the Director General of Police order registration of suo motto case against Talasani for faking his resignation.
Gandra also accused Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan of being negligent and said he had failed to perform his duties. He also alleged that Speaker S Madhusudan Chary has insulted the Constitution and cheated the Assembly by remaining silent on the issue.
