DGP conducts aerial survey of Pushkar Ghats Hyderabad, July 19 (INN): Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Sunday conducted an aerial survey of various pushkar ghats in five districts of Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons at Dharmapuri of Karimnagar district, the DGP said additional forces were being deployed for the smooth and peaceful conduct of Godavari Puskhkaralu. He said additional forces, sent from the Hyderabad, have been deployed at various strategic locations in five districts. The security arrangements will continue till the conclusion of festival on July 25.
The DGP admitted of severe traffic chaos at various places during the last two days. He nearly five to six lakh pilgrims have visited the pushkar ghats in view of holidays which aggravated the situation. However, he expressed satisfaction over the safety and security scenario.
Earlier, the DGP worshipped at Sri Gnana Saraswathi Ammavaru at Basara and was offered a shawl and theertha prasadam by Temple Executive Officer Ramana Murthy. He also enquired about the security arrangements with Additional Director General B L Meena.
