Commissioner holds meeting on Bonalu


 
Hyderabad, July 23 (INN): City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Thursday held a coordination meeting with heads of all departments at Salar Jung Museum conference Hall in connection with forthcoming Bonalu Festival ' 2015.

Additional CP (Special Branch) Y. Nagi Reddy, GHMC Zonal Commissioner Bala Subramanyam Reddy, RDO Nikhila, SE (Electricity Department) Anand, GM Water Works Kiran Kumar and other officials of TSRTC, Fire department, R&B, Probation and Excise department, Health department, BSNL attended the meeting.

All the Temple committee members, Ummadi Devalaya Committee Chairman Alle Bhaskar attended the meeting. The Temple Committee members presented their problems such as irregular water supply, electricity, street lights, repair of roads, removal of debris and garbage, Tree and cable cuttings, security arrangements, repair of Temples, white washing, Painting in the Temples, providing mobile generators enroute the procession and optimum utilization of the allotted funds to the temples by the government etc.,.

In this regard the concerned departmental officials appraised the Temple Committee members/orgnanisers in detail about the arrangements being made for the forthcoming Bonalu Festival -2015 schedule to be held from 31-07-2015 to 10-08-2015. The Committee members were satisfied with the appraisal of the concerned department officials.

DCP South Zone V Satyanarayana informed the Temple committee members and organizers that (19 SI's) have already been earmarked and allotted to the temples as Liaison Officers to look after all the requirements pertaining to their allotted Temples with help of other department officials. A co-ordination Meeting was already held earlier at South Zone conference hall on 21-07-2015 in this regard. The Temple committee members discussed the issues pertaining to their Temples in detail.

The DCP South Zone apprised them that all the security precautions will be taken in toto and also sufficient number of Women force will be deployed as per the desire of the organizers. The Zonal Commissioner of GHMC appraised the Temple Committee members about the budget allocation, Tenders called, Works being taken up, etc. issues in details in the meeting. The SE Electricity Department assured uninterrupted Power supply during Bonalu festival period.

Addl. CP Nagi Reddy expressed that the atmosphere in the city is very congenial and peaceful. He expressed that as Bonalu festival has been declared as State Festival, hence this time the festival will be celebrated with great pomp and show. He requested the organizers/Temple committee members to show tolerance and co-operate with the police for better services this time comparing to the last year.

The Police Commissioner expressed his best wishes to all, on the eve of forthcoming Bonalu Festival. He also appreciated the officials for their concerned and devotion towards the works being carried out for the festival. He advised all department officials to work with co-ordination, devotion and like one family. With regard to Playing of DJ during the procession, he told the gathering that due to the DJ system huge noise is emanated, the officials who follow the processions cannot communicate each other either on the VHF set or on the cellular phones.

In the event of any eventuality, it will be difficult either to the police or to the other Officials to attend the situation and to control it at the initial stage. Hence the Govt. has taken a decision not to permit the DJ systems during the Processions and also he stated that a stringent action will be taken on the concerned Jurisdiction Police Officers if violated. He also expressed his happiness that the city police are involving themselves with the public and maintaining good community policing, citizen friendly policing and narrowing the gap.
