AP Govt aims to make agriculture profitable Hyderabad, July 24 (INN): The Primary Sector would focus on making agriculture and allied activities profitable and sustainable for improvement of rural economy and Social Sector ensures - quality education, healthcare and nutrition for all citizens to achieve the development goals and other global indicators, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao emphasized.
The Chief Secretary held a meeting today with the Officers of Primary Sector Mission and Social Empowerment Mission related Departments to review on the key performance indicators of the Sectors. Agriculture, Seri Culture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry comes under Primary Sector Mission; Minority Welfare, B.C. Welfare, School Education, Rural Development and Rural Water will comes under Social Empowerment Mission.
Krishna Rao told that Primary Sector Mission was designed for increasing productivity of crops, mitigating the impact of droughts through water conservation, micro irrigation and post harvest management to reduce the wastage etc.,.
Meetings on these missions will be conducted every week to review on the progress and performances, the Chief Secretary informed.
Senior officials S.P. Tucker, L.V. Subrahmanyam, Satish Chandra, Dr. Vijaya Kumar, Vidya Sagar and others attended the meeting.
