Convene Assembly session, demands CLP Hyderabad, July 26 (INN): The Telangana Congress Legislature Party on Sunday demanded that the State Government immediately convene the Assembly and Council sessions to discuss the issues pertaining to the State.
The CLP meeting was held in Assembly's Committee Hall here on Sunday and was attended by Leader of Opposition Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy, MPs V Hanumantha Rao, MA Khan and G Sukhender Reddy, legislators Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Dr. J Geetha Reddy, DK Aruna, Farooq Hussain, MS Prabhakar among others.
The Congress leaders said that the proposed changes in the design of Pranahita Chevella project should be discussed in the Assembly. They also condemned the criticism of other parties on the recent visit of AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to Anantapur.
The CLP meeting also discussed the problems being faced by farmers in the State. They said several mandals received deficient rainfall and have been facing drought situation. They alleged that the State Government has completely neglected farmers forcing them to commit suicides.
The Congress leaders also urged Speaker S Madhusudan Chary to take action against all the defectors.
They also decided to prepare for by-elections for Warangal Lok Sabha seat and a mandal-level meeting will be held in Warangal on August 3.
