T-Cong approach EC over removal of voters
Hyderabad, Aug 5 (INN): The Telangana Congress leaders on Wednesday sought the intervention of Election Commission of India over the alleged indiscriminate deletion of voters from the Sanathnagar constituency.
Accompanied with MLC MS Prabhakar, Congress senior leader Marri Sashidhar Reddy called on Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal and alleged that the GHMC has been removing the names of several voters from the electoral rolls. He demanded that all the deleted names should be kept online while citing the reasons for removal. He demanded that all the political parties should be provided the details of deletions in electoral rolls in the recent past. He said that the data should be uploaded on internet on daily basis.
Sashidhar Reddy also urged the CEO to appoint an Observer to probe into his complaint. Speaking to media persons later, he claimed that the CEO has assured to appoint one senior IAS officer to enquire into his complaint.
