World is looking towards AP: CM Hyderabad, Aug 9 (INN): In a meeting with the Capital Advisory Group at his residence today, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the world is looking towards Andhra Pradesh in building our capital. 'All world countries are looking towards Andhra Pradesh to be partners in the development of capital,' he added.
To develop it as the People's Capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati must be created as a vibrant, diverse, inclusive, and modern city which will be a symbol of pride for the people of Andhra Pradesh and India, the Chief Minister said.
After Japan has evinced interest in being partners in the capital construction, various companies from China and Malaysia have also come forward to contribute to the construction of people's capital, the Chief Minister said. 'It is an honour to be blessed with an opportunity to construct our capital,' he said.
Emphasizing on making the construction of capital a participatory model, the Chief Minister said that the industrialists from the state too should be partners in this historical endeavour.
With a slew of investments coming in for the capital region, the Chief Minister stressed on making the processes hassle-free for companies for the setting up of their industries.
He further suggested the members of the Capital Advisory Group to thoroughly analyze the master plans of the seed capital, capital city and capital region areas. 'Andhra Pradesh's capital must set a benchmark for other countries,' he stated.
He directed the officials to implement world-class practices in constructing energy smart grid, wide-lane road network and drains. He directed the officials to work on an action plan that will effectively use local resources to enrich the green cover in the city and maintain cleanliness.
Recalling his recent visit to Istanbul in Turkey, the Chief Minister lauded the Turkey government's efforts in utilizing advanced technology to develop as a modern city in just seven years. He added that Istanbul, with a population of 2 crore, is emerging as the fastest growing city in the world.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has briefed him about the infrastructural marvels of Astana and Asghabat, capital cities of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, respectively.
The Prime Minister also suggested to the Chief Minister to send a delegation to these cities in order to study them and incorporate some of the best practices, he said.
The Chief Minister added that the construction of capital city will pick up pace after laying the foundation stone on October 22 this year. 'Amaravati will be developed as a port-based capital between two industrial townships, home to economic activity' he said.
The Chief Minister further shared his plans of setting up educational institutions, healthcare facilities and constructing world-class transport system.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister also shared some of the issues that were raised during his meetings with the Japan PM, ministers and representatives of Japanese companies.
He also suggested the committee to note the best practices of Gandhinagar, Chandigarh, Naya Raipur and Navi Mumbai to offer quality living in Amaravati.
Union Ministers Y.S. Chowdary, Galla Jayadev, Municipal and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana, Advisor (Communications) Dr. Parakala Prabhakar, Special Chief Secretary (Planning) S.P. Tucker, Principal Secretary to CM Satish Chandra, Principal Secretaries P.V. Ramesh, S.S. Rawat , Secretary (CRDA) Ajay Jain and other members of the Advisory Group were present.
