High Court said that new tests are required to prove that the popular snack does not contain excess lead. Justices VM Kanade and BP Colabawalla set aside the June 5 order of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)
On June 5, FSSAI' ordered Nestle India to withdraw all nine variants of Maggi instant noodles from the market. FSSAI termed them as 'unsafe and hazardous' for human consumption.
The HC further' directed the FSSAI to test five samples of the product in three labs accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).' If the tests are in Nestle's favour, it can start selling the noodles again.
