TDP flays TRS Govt for neglecting pending projects Hyderabad, Aug 13 (INN): The Telugu Desam Party has accused the TRS Government of launching new irrigation projects only to get kickbacks.
Speaking to media persons in Mahabubnagar on Thursday, Telangana TDP President L. Ramana and floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao said the main objective of launching new irrigation projects is to receive kickbacks from the contractors. They said several irrigation projects were started during the Congress and TDP regimes. However, instead of completing the pending projects, the TRS Government is focussed on launching new projects.
The TDP leaders said many projects were nearing completion and by spending a few hundred crores they could be completed. However, no funds have been released for those projects in the last 14 months of TRS Rule. They said instead of getting National Status for Pranahita-Chevella, it is being divided into two separate projects. Similarly, four pending irrigation projects of Mahabubnagar district can be completed at a cost of Rs. 1,000 crore. But all these projects are being neglected deliberately, they alleged.
The TDP leaders demanded that the State Government convene an all-party meeting to discuss the issue.
