T-TDP opposes increase in Almatti Dam's height Hyderabad, Aug 14 (INN): The Telangana TDP has strongly condemned the Karnataka Government for raising the height of Almatti Dam.
Speaking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Friday, TDP leaders Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Ravula Chandrashekar Reddy said that the Almatti would become next Babli project if Karnataka is not prevented from raising the height. They criticised the TRS Government for remaining a mute spectator to the advances made by Karnataka and Maharashtra Governments on their irrigation projects which would hurt the interest of Telangana State.
The TDP leaders said that Telangana would not get a single drop of Krishna Waters if Almatti Dam's height is raised. They said that the State Government should take up this issue very seriously. They also asked the TRS MPs to make representation with the Centre on the issue.
They informed that they would soon meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue.
