Ponguleti asks TS Govt to shelve cheap liquor policy Hyderabad, Aug 21 (INN): Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Friday accused the Telangana Government of playing with the lives and health of poor people by promoting cheap liquor.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Ponguleti alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was pursuing a secret agenda by promoting cheap liquor in the State. He said that the ruling party leaders were expecting huge kickbacks by issuing licenses for cheap liquor outlets. He asked the State Government to drop its decision to encourage cheap liquor. Else, he threatened that the Congress party would launch massive agitation against the new policy.
Ponguleti also advised the Chief Minister to take opposition parties into confidence before implementing decisions on key issues like change of design of Pranahita Chevella project. He said all those issues were related to common people and therefore, KCR should not treat them like personal agenda.
