Mahender Reddy lays foundation stone for developmental works Hyderabad, Aug 23 (INN): Telangana Transport Minister Mahender Reddy on Sunday laid foundation stone for various developmental works worth Rs. 14 Crore in LB Nagar area under "Swachh Hyderabad" programme.
Speaking to media persons later, Mahender Reddy informed that Rs. 12.88 crore would be spent to provide drinking water and CC Roads in LB Nagar and Gadiannaram areas. He said other colonies in the area would be developed in a phased manner. Storm water drains would also be constructed in the areas. He said the CC Roads would be laid on war footing basis in the areas including Champapet, BN Reddy Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Hayath Nagar, Mansoorabad, Judges Colony, Gaddiannaram and Kothapet.
The minister also informed that efforts were being made to deal with the shortage of drinking water in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. He said that the supply of water through Krishna Phase-III would reduce the shortage to a great extent.
Mahender Reddy said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has been taking steps to develop Hyderabad as a global city. Besides taking up new projects, the State Government has launched initiatives to make Hyderabad a slum-free and clean city.
