No takers for 42 engineering seats in OU's campus
Hyderabad Aug 23 (INN): Probably for the first time, as many as 42 seats have remained vacant in different branches of engineering in the Osmania University campus.
A total of 42 seats of Civil, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Mechanical and Bio-Medicine found no takers this year as many top rankers have opted for IITs or other Central institution. According to Campus Engineering College incharge Principal Prof. Ram Chander Rao, a representation has already been made to the State Government to fill the vacancies. Meanwhile, different students' organisations have also urged the government to take up spot admission to ensure that these seats are filled with other students.
