Former MLC Ibraheem Masqati passes away Hyderabad, Aug 24 (INN): Former Legislator Ibraheem Bin Abdullah Masqati passed away this morning at his Kotla Alijah residence after prolonged illness. He was 85. He is survived by six sons and four daughters.
He was elected as MLA twice from Yakutpura constituency of Hyderabad on MIM party ticket and served as floor leader of the party for a couple of years. He was elected as Telugu Desam Party MLC 2007. He also served as Chairman of Urdu Academy Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N. Chandra Babu Naidu, Telangana Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, MIM President Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM Floor Leader Akberuddin Owaisi and other MLAs and MLCs of AIMIM, TDP leaders and a large number of politicians cutting across the party line, scholars and his followers visited his residence and paid floral tributes to the departed leader.
Namaz-e-Janaza was performed in Mecca Masjid today evening and burial took place amidst thousands of people at his family burial ground in Dargah Hazrat Allah Numa Shah situated near DRDL in Santoshnagar.
Ibraheem Bin Abdullah Masqati was known for his straight forward and outspoken stand.
