Recently Following a notice from the Vijayawada court to attend questioning in the alleged phone tapping case, the home secretary appealed to the High Court. After hearing the petition High court of Hyderabad granted relief to the IAS officer by issuing a stay on the lower court's order. AP govt has been hoping to make some progress in the case and this stay order can be called as setback to the AP govt.
After Telangana ACB registered the `cash-for-vote' scam involving TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Police filed a case based on complaints that the phones of AP CM and several of his Ministers were tapped by Telangana intelligence officials. The allegation is that several phones belonging to AP ministers and officials including CM's were tapped. Andhra Pradesh CID and SIT are looking into the phone- tapping case.
