Congress hold protest against attack on MLA Hyderabad, Sept 7 (INN): The Congress leader on Monday held demonstrations across the Telangana State in protest against the alleged attack on party MLA Rammohan Reddy by TRS legislator G. Balaraju.
The Congress workers organised dharnas before all District Collectorates. TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, former union minister S. Jaipal Reddy and other leaders participated in the protest in Mahabubnagar. Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS leaders were attacking the Congress legislators to hide their failures. He said that the TRS Government has failed to handle agriculture crisis and so far, more than 1300 farmers committed suicide. He said the Congress leaders were being targeted for exposing government's failures.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has given more importance to his China tour than attending to farmers who lost their crops due to drought.
Congress MLAs G. Chinna Reddy, DK Aruna, Rammohan Reddy, Vamshi Chandra Reddy, Sampath Kumar, former MPs Vithal Rao and Mallu Ravi, Mahabubnagar DCC president Ubaidullah Kotwal, Municipal Chairman Radha Amar and other leaders participated in the protest.
Meanwhile, Congress senior leaders Sudhir Reddy, Srisailam Yadav and other held protest at the Ranga Reddy District Collectorate and were arrested by the police.
Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagender submitted a memorandum to Governor ESL Narasimhan demanding a probe into the attack on Congress MLA.
