KCR must accept responsibility for suicides: Bhatti Hyderabad, Sept 8 (INN): TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday asked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to accept responsibility for the suicide of over 1100 farmers in Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons in Congress Legislature Party office here, Bhatti said KCR, Ministers T. Harish Rao and K. Tarakarama Rao did not own responsibility for the farmers' suicides. He said KCR should have met the families of farmers who committed suicide and extended financial assistances to them. However, KCR family stayed away from the issue and did not even give an assurance to farmers to prevent further suicides.
Bhatti said that the TRS Government did not fully implement its promise of waiving of crop loans. So far, only two out of four installments have been cleared and due to previous dues the banks were not issuing fresh crop loans to farmers.
The Congress leader said that there was also no clarity on other government schemes like fee reimbursement. He alleged that hundreds of students were discontinuing their education due to lack of clarity on fee reimbursement. He also slammed the TRS Government for its decision to change the design of Pranahita-Chevella project. He said the move was aimed at delaying the project which was initiated by the previous Congress regime.
