Sabitha challenges Harish Rao for debate Hyderabad, Sept 8 (INN): Congress senior leader and former minister P. Sabitha Indira Reddy on Tuesday challenged Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao for an open debate on the development of Ranga Reddy district.
Speaking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Sabitha dismissed Harish Rao's allegations that the Congress did not develop Ranga Reddy district during its 10 year regime. Inviting Harish Rao for a joint visit, she said Congress started several projects in RR District. They include Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Nehru Outer Ring Road and Metro Rail project among others. She said Congress Government brought Krishna River water to city for drinking purpose.
Sabitha Indira Reddy said that the Congress Government had spent several hundreds crores for the development of RR District. Similarly, she said Pranahita Chevella project was aimed at benefitting Ranga Reddy district. However, by changing its design, the TRS Government was trying to deprive the district of several benefits.
Former minister G Prasad Kumar and CLP Secretary T. Rammohan Reddy also spoke. Senior leaders including MLA Bhikshapati Goud, MLC Ranga Reddy, former MLA Sudhir Reddy and RR DCC President K. Mallesh were also present.
