TRS Govt serious farm sector: Harish Rao Hyderabad, Sept 10 (INN): Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that the TRS Government was serious on developing the agriculture sector and welfare of farmers.
Addressing the TRS workers at a meeting in Boath of Adilabad district on Thursday, Harish Rao said that the government was spending Rs. 1 lakh crore on irrigation projects across the State. Similarly, Rs. 91,000 crore were being spent to produce 25,000 MW of power. He claimed that the power cuts have been minimised after TRS came to power in the State. He said 24 hour power supply was ensured in several parts of Telangana, including Adilabad. He said that the credit for resolving the energy crisis goes to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Harish Rao said that the Mission Kakatiya was quite successful and the lakes which were restored during the programme are now filled with water. He said several lakes were revived in Adilabad district.
He said that the previous Congress Government did not give any representation to Adilabad in the State Government. However, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has inducted two MLAs from the district into his cabinet. He said that the works on Guthi Project would be launched after the receipt of Detailed Project Report. He hoped that the project, once completed, would meet the irrigation needs of the entire district. He also announced construction of 45 godowns in Adilabad district.
Earlier, Housing Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, in his speech, listed out various schemes being implemented by the State Government for the welfare of different sections of the society.
Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna, Adilabad MP Nagesh, MLA Bapu Rao and other leaders also spoke.
