Two pilgrims from Macchlipatnam killed in Makkah tragedy Hyderabad, Sept 13 (INN): Two Haj pilgrims belonging to Macchlipatnam Krishna District of AP died in the accident, that occurred in the Haram-e-Shareef in Makkah on Friday evening, informed Prof. S. A. Shukoor Special Officer Telangana State Haj Committee.
He said that two pilgrims, Mr. Abdul Qader and his wife Fatima Begum, went on pilgrimage along with two other ladies on September 6, from Hyderabad Embarkation Point. Leaving their relatives in the room they went to perform Umrah on that fateful evening. When they did not return to the room a missing complaint was registered and search began. It was only today that their identity was established and they were declared dead by Saudi Authorities. One of their relatives, Abdul Muqeet, was also in Makkah and he identified the bodies.
Prof. S. A. Shukoor has brought the matter in the knowledge of Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, AP's Minorities Welfare Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy, Minorities Welfare Secretaries Syed Omer Jaleel (Telangana) and Shaik Mohammed Iqbal (AP).
He spoke to the relatives of the deceased and condoled the death. They had left behind two minor sons aged six and three respectively. (INN)
