Telangana government received a big jolt from supreme court for removing some of the BC castes from reservation lists after the state division. State government had issued orders for removal of some BC castes. Govt said that those castes do not exist in the newly carved state of Telangana post bifurcation.
The castes removed are from Uttarandhra and those who are settled now in several parts of Telangana. They have knocked the door of the high court earlier but could not get a favourable judgement. Recently they moved to supreme court challenging the high court decision and received judgement for their favour. TS govt had got notice from the SC for removing those BC castes and the SC asks for an explanation. The court posted the next hearing of the case to 18th of this month.
