Telangana is in grip of epidemics: BJP Hyderabad, Sept 16 (INN): BJP floor leader Dr. K. Lakshman on Wednesday expressed concern over outbreak of several diseases across Telangana, especially in Hyderabad.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Dr. Lakshman said 1338 cases of Malaria, 356 cases of Dengue and nearly 50 cases of Swine Flu have been reported in recent past. He said although the entire State was in the grip of epidemics, the State Government was not taking any measures to prevent their spread. He said Health Minister Dr. Lakshma Reddy should at least visited Gandhi Hospital to inspect the preparedness.
The BJP leader also slammed GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar for the deteriorating condition of civic amenities in the city. He said the recent rainfall has badly damaged the roads and many storm water drains were chocked due to unlifted garbage. (INN)
Lakshman demanded that the forthcoming session of Assembly be held for three weeks. He also asked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to convene a special meeting with the State Level Bankers Committee to discuss the crop loan issues. He said that the Chief Minister should convene an all-party meeting to discuss the problems being faced by the State.
