Transport Minister launches JNNURM buses Hyderabad, Sept 18 (INN): Transport Minister Mahender Reddy inaugurated buses of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM) in Mahabubnagar Town on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Centre has sanctioned 130 buses for Mahabubnagar, Karimnagar and Khamman under JNNURM scheme. He said nearly 400 Palle Velugu and 100 AC buses would be launched soon across the State. He said that the Telangana Government was trying to provide bus connectivity to all the villages. He said new roads would be constructed in all the buses for this purpose.
Mahender Reddy said efforts were on to turn the Road Transport Corporation into a profit-making organisation. He appealed to the RTC staff to cooperate with the management and government in achieving this goal. He said best performing employees would be given awards and their services would be recognised.
TRS MP Jithender Reddy and other senior officials also spoke on the occasion.
