TPCC leaders to meet CEC over deletion of voters Hyderabad, Sept 18 (INN): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday informed that his party would lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India against the removal of names from the electoral rolls of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that a delegation of TPCC would call on Chief Election Commissioner Naseem Zaidi on September 21 to brief him about the deletion of over 17 lakh names from the electoral rolls. He said all the representations made with the local elections authorities have proved futile and Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal did not take any action. He said that the Congress would launch a massive protest after the Ganesh festival on the issue.
Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy chaired a review meeting on the GHMC elections. The meeting was attended by TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Greater Hyderabad Congress president Danam Nagender, former minister P. Sabitha Indira Reddy, Ranga Reddy district president Kayam Mallesh, MLC MS Prbhakar, former MLAs Marri Shashidhar Reddy and Sudhir Reddy, former GHMC Mayor Banda Karthika Chandra Reddy among others.
