Makkah Mosque Accident: CBN gives Rs.6 lakhs AP chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday paid Rs.6 lakh as compensation to the family of a couple killed in the crane accident at the Makkah Mosque.A couple hailed from machilipatnam of Andhra Pradesh died in the accident. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented cheques of Rs.3 lakh each to the two sons of the couple in Vijayawada.
Their sons Mohammed Muskan (6) and Khaja Mohiuddin (9) received the cheques from the chief minister.CBN said that Government will provide ration card, house site to the family and ensure that their children were educated.
On September 11 th a huge crane crashed into a part of the Grand Mosque - the largest in the world - that was filled with worshippers at the time. 107 people including 11 indians died and 238 were injured.
The families of each person killed in the incident be compensated with 1 million Saudi riyals (270,000 US dollars)( (Rs.1.75 crore). Those who suffered serious injuries as a result of the crane collapse will each receive the same amount, while all others injured will each receive 500,000 riyals (130,000 dollars) in compensation.
