Kavitha's NGO to help farmers' families Hyderabad, Sept 20 (INN): Nizamabad MP and Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha on Sunday announced that her NGO would provide financial assistance and take responsibility for education of children of farmers who committed suicide.
She made this announcement while addressing a press conference along with Badminton players Jwala Gutta and Pragyan Ogha and Tennis star Sania Mirza's mother Nasima Mirza. She said that Telangana Jagruti would extend requrired assistance to the farmers' families. She said a committee, comprising of players from Telangana State and NRIs, has been constituted for the purpose. The NRIs from London, US and Bahrain have agreed to support Telangana Jagruthi in this initiative and so far 80 beneficiary families have been identified, she informed
Kavitha said that of 252 farmers who committed suicide, the State Government has provided compensation to 171 families. She said that Telangana Jagruthi would distribute financial aid among the farmers' families on November 1.
