Congress leaders hold protest at GPO Hyderabad, Sept 21 (INN): Nearly 200 Congress activists, including senior leaders, were arrested by the police when they held dharna at the General Post Office at Abids in protest against the Central Government's decision to withdraw postal stamps of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
The dharna was led by Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao, former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav and Greater Hyderabad Congress president Danam Nagender. The Congress workers raised slogans against the BJP-led NDA Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused them of being narrow-minded.
The dharna led to a massive traffic on the busy Abids and other connecting roads of Maozamjahi Market and Koti.
