New date: YS Jagan Deeksha from October 7th The hunger strike that was planned by YSR Congress party Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the AP Special Status in Guntur now gets a new date. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will now hold the indefinite deeksha from October 7 and the news was announced just while ago.
Announcing the new dates, YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana said the government's objection to the indefinite fast was untenable as CM himself had undertaken such fasts as an opposition leader.
With Police not according the permission for YS Jagan's deeksha, the YSRCP has approached the High Court. High court also refused to take up house motion petition and it forced the party to postpone the strike. The deeksha aims at bringing pressure on the centre to accord special status to Andhra Pradesh.
