No final decision on Vizag Railway Zone Hyderabad, Sept 30 (INN): The Railway Board on Wednesday dismissed the reports that appeared in a section of media stating that a new railway zone at Visakhapatnam has been ruled out by the Ministry of Railways.
In terms of 'Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014', the Ministry of Railways had been asked to examine the issues of establishing a new railway zone in the successor state of Andhra Pradesh. Accordingly, the Ministry (Railway Board) had set up a Committee of Senior Officers to examine this point and submit their report. The Committee has submitted its report.
However, before a final decision is taken, the Committee has been asked to consult all stake-holders. Action in this regard is being taken by the Committee. No final decision has been taken in the matter as on date, the Board said.
