GHMC to launch drive to stop Dengue, Malaria Hyderabad, Sept 30 (INN): GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar informed that in order to control Dengue, Malaria and other communicable diseases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is taking up spray operations in every household by visiting door to door in its limits.
The Commissioner said that a special drive is being taken up for a week to create awareness among the citizens of the twin cities to control the menace.
Somesh Kumar held a review meeting with the concerned Heads of the Departments and stated that despite taking up Anti Larval Operations, some cases are still being reported. In view of such cases, the GHMC is planning to conduct a special drive per 100% larval operations to be taken up in the entire limits of GHMC. The Entomology wing of GHMC is having around 2,000 staff who are taking up Larval Operations, fogging and other operations door to door. It is also being proposed to requesting the house owners to send an SMS to the GHMC Head Office for anti-larval operations.
The GHMC is also planning to take up publicity campaign through pamphlets and other various means of publicity. The corporation is also planning to purchase new modernised machines to take up spraying, fogging in the coming days.
