Palamuru project plan is faulty: Chinna Reddy Hyderabad, Oct 9 (INN): Congress MLA G. Chinna Reddy has stated that the nearly 120 TMC of water could supplied for irrigation and drinking water in three districts of Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar through Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project. However, he alleged that the Telangana Government was planning to utilise only 70 TMC of water.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Chinna Reddy said that Palamuru project could irrigate about 10 lakh acres. However, the faulty design of design could badly hurt the interest of Ranga Reddy district. Further, he alleged that only 50% of water was being utilised from Dindi project.
Chinna Reddy also criticised State Government for proposing changes in Pranahita Chevella Project. He said several thousands crores have already been spent on the project and change of design at this stage would lead to wastage of public money. He said instead of following the experts' advise, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao were themselves acting like experts. He also ridiculed the State Government's proposed all-party meeting on Pranahit Chevella project and said it was aimed at only diverting people's attention from the government's failure in Assembly.
