Rs. 16.67 lakh realised during 'Fortress Check' Hyderabad, Oct 20 (INN): The South Central Railway conducted a Fortress Check against ticketless and irregular travel at Secunderabad Railway Station.
The check was conducted on October 19 under the direct supervision of G.Laxminarayan, Chief Commercial Manager, South Central Railway. Ravi P. Padi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Secunderabad Division other senior Commercial Department officers were also present during the check.
The check was undertaken by 145 Ticket checking staff supplemented by Railway Protection Force (RPF) Personnel. Tickets of passengers were scrutinized to detect ticketless/irregular travel. During the Fortress Check, all the exit points at Secunderabad Railway station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers escaping from the check. As many as 34 Express trains, 6 Passenger Trains & 36 MMTS Trains were thoroughly checked at the station.
A total of 3090 persons, comprising of 1005 persons travelling without ticket, 1851 persons travelling irregularly and 234 cases of un-booked luggage were detected and 66 persons were penalized for littering at SC station. An amount of Rs. 16, 66, 685/- was realised towards penalty during the Fortress Check.
