CTA and NATS conducts "Ask Attorney" Chicago, USA: Chicago Telugu Association and NATS organized an immigration helpline - Ask Attorney program to help telugu people to talk to an experienced Attorney Praveen Medikumdum. The aim of this program was to enable students, employees and other community members to get firsthand information on recent changes in US Immigration procedures and laws, especially student optional training program, I485 processing times, dependent visa issues and parent sponsorships etc.
Ask Attorney is a unique service oriented program being organized by CTA and NATS. In a 60 minutes direct interaction attorney Praveen patiently explained every question raised by participants. Other than explaining latest changes, Praveen directly answered and address more than 15 people's questions. He explained the best practices in American immigration procedures, and also various options for students who are graduating in moving to next phase in their careersalso current status on OPT and STEM.
In another update Praveen explained the dependent visa issues especially those dependents waiting with I-140 approved and been waiting for few years since then. Answering a question raised by a citizen, related to renewing the green card and surrendering the green cards of parents, he outlined the process for the same. Praveen also gave his feedback and guidance to students on transferring from one university to another university.
This event was organized by CTA President Nagendra Vege, CTA Board Member Murthy Koppaka, CTA Vice President Madan Pamulapati, CTA Secretary Subba Rao Putrevu and NATS Chicago Coordinator Ramesh Maryala. NATS Chicago Secretary Ramki Tunuguntla has moderated the event.
Participants expressed extreme happiness and commended CTA and NATS for such an important service oriented. CTA and NATS expressed their gratitude and thanks to attorney Praveen Medikumdam for his time and service.
Speaking on this occasion NATS President Ravi Achanta congratulated Chicago NATS and CTA President Nagendra Vege and Team for successfully conducting the program.
CTA and NATS announced that this is monthly program and community members can freely register and participate in this program to get answers to their immigration related questions.
