Rotathon Promotion walk held at Raahgiri Hyderabad, Feb 21 (INN): Raahgiri is a people's movement by the people for the people. It has been in its second year. Thanks for Genpact and its support, the activities are now with full of vigor and enthusiasm at Raahgiri. The second year has begun with increased spirit of Raahgirism, many novel activities are planning each Sunday.
Rotathon Promotion Walk was held on Sunday at Raahgiri. The Rotary Clubs of Hyderabad Region have planned a Rotathon, a walk for a literate India to be held on Sunday 28th February at People's Plaza at Necklace road. To popularize the walk and seek more participation we have organized a Rotathon Promotion Walk at Raahgiri today informed Viivek Verma, President of Rotary Club of Miyapur. About 200 Rotarians, their families and those volunteers who work for Literacy movement participated in the Rotathon Promotion Walk.
Besides promotional walk, the Rotary clubs of Hyderabad did a flash mob to create awareness on their upcoming Rotathon walk. They also conducted awareness drive on pulse polio drops.
A city character is defined by its public places and not by its private places' We have a huge dearth of public places in Hyderabad. Even if they are they are not being utilized due to the lack of facilities, sports equipment, toilets etc. This trend will lead to huge stress among people' we need more places for relaxation. Thanks to the support of the Genpack, Raahgiri is doing wonders in bringing people such awareness' said one of the participant while enjoying with family.
Fifty eight weeks on since Raahgiri first began on January 18, 2014, Raahgiri is still fresh and new in people's mind. It was road full of activities on this Sunday. Large number of people participated.
Other activities held in support with Genpact include an Interaction with Akshay who is doing a one year cycling tour across India to promote Startups, Mother language promotion by Uma Kiranam, Interaction with Jahnavi Sriperambaduru, youngest mountaineer from Hyderabad, Zumba by 8 counts, cycling by Cykul, street games by Naavigo, Fitness corner by Fitzop.
