TS Transport Dept achieves 90% of revenue targets
Hyderabad, Feb 24 (INN): Transport Minister M. Mahender Reddy said that the Transport Department was able to achieve 90% of set target of Rs. 2,000 Crore during the current financial year.
Addressing a review meeting at RTA Headquarters in Khairtabad on Wednesday, the minister said that Rs. 50 crore would be allocated for construction of new buildings of RTA. He also assured that all vacant posts in the Transport Department would be filled soon. He said special funds would be allocated to strengthen the Road Transport Corporation and facilities in 95 depots would be improved.
The minister said that the online services being rendered by the Transport Department would be improved further. He said stern action would be taken against the buses which are operating without proper permits. He stressed on better coordination between Transport, Police and other departments. He directed the officials to take steps to prevent road accidents. He also said helmet would be made compulsory.
