Govt to encourage use of LED bulbs Hyderabad, March 13 (INN): Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy said that he State Government was encouraging use of LED bulbs for saving power in Telangana State.
In his reply to a query raised by MLA V Satish Kumar and others during Question Hour in Legislative Assembly on Sunday, the minister said that the government has decided to take up the programme of promoting Energy Efficient Lighting Devices (DELP), as the use of LED bulbs in the domestic sector helps in saving of conventional electricity. Initially, the programme will be taken up in 25 Nagar Panchayats and three districts of Medak, Nalgonda and Nizamabad. While 34.5 Million Units are expected to be saved in 25 Nagar Panchayats, the use of LED bulbs could save 185 MUs in three districts, the minister said.
