Experts hail behavioural change in cab drivers Hyderabad, May 14 (INN): Experts from IT and Travel industry and Police Department have praised the behavioural change among the drivers associated with the city's Information Technology and Service industries.
Addressing the Training and Appraisal Session organised by the Wells Forgo, in collaboration with the Telangana State Cabs and Bus Operators Association, Cyberabad Police Commissionerate and Cyberabad Society for Security Council, it Wells Forgo premises on Saturday, the experts expressed happiness over almost zero involvement of cab drivers in drunken driving cases. Many cab drivers have also won accolades for their good and responsible behaviour. They also won awards for the punctuality and honesty while performing their duties. Many drivers were held in high esteem by the managements when they returned costly items belonging to the IT employees which were misplaced in cabs during travel to office or home.
The training session, 10th in the series since 7th February, 2015, was addressed by Addl DCP Traffic (Cyberabad) Snehitha, ACP Traffic (Kukatpally) Ashok, Venkat of SCSC, Traffic Forum Leader Krishna Yedula and TSCBOA president Syed Nizamuddin.
They said that it was due to the commitment of cab drivers that nearly 10 lakh IT employees were travelling to their offices and home with total sense of security. Not a single complaint against cab driver related to women's safety was received ever since the TSCBOA launched the drivers' training programme. "Our intention was to involve all drivers in building a good brand image for Hyderabad's IT industry. We sensitised them on safe driving, women's safety and made them realise that they were Brand Ambassadors of Hyderabad. We are happy to note that thousands of drivers who underwent training have changed themselves. This will help the entire industry," said Syed Nizamuddin while addressing the session.
Syed Nizamuddin said that the TSCBOA's survey on drivers has been completed and its findings were being analysed. He said that the survey would provide a great insight about the problems and issues being confronted by individual drivers on daily basis. He assured that the TSCBOA would provide all required assistance to the drivers and their families. Further, he said all drivers were being extended free medical care through Healthier Hearts Foundation. He thanked the IT industry and other corporates for the support and cooperation in successful conduct of drivers' training programme. He said that the Association plans to train nearly 30,000 drivers in the next one year.
