Sikhs organise Atamras Keertan Darbar


 
Hyderabad, Feb 24 (INN): Recitations of Gurbani keertans (Gurbani hymns), delivering of Gurbani Vichar, Guru ka Langar marked the ''Atamras Keertan Darbar'' dedicated to 550th ''Prakash Purab'' (birth annivesary) of first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikhism.

The two day celebrations concluded on Sunday with thousands of Sikh Devotees and other community faiths celebrating it with religious gaiety and devotion by offering prayers to Guru Granth Sahibji. The Khalsa Seva Dal in coordination with Prabhandak Committees of Gurudwara Saheb Secunderbad and Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj organised grand ''Atamras Keertan Darbbar'' at Keyes High School.

Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad, President, S Baldev Singh Bagga along with Khalsa Seva Dal President, Surinderpal Singh, members Rajender Singh Thakral and Gurmeet Singh Makhija said that the major attraction of the concluding event ''Atamras Keertan Darbbar'' was organised at Keyes High School Secunderabad where over 10,000-15,000 Sikh devotees and other community faith participated in the ``Keertan Darbar'' (Mass Congretion) by offering prayers to Sri Guru Granth Sahibji (Holy Scripture of Sikhs) on Sunday.

The congregation began this morning at 11 AM continued up to 4.30 PM and was marked by the recitations of Gurubani Keertans and Kathas (Holy Hymns) by the renowned and reputed Ragi Jathas (Sikh Preachers).

Prominent Ragi Jathas (preachers), Bhai Gagandeep Singh (Ganganagar, Rajasthan), Bhai Amarjeet Singh (Patiala, Punjab), Bhai Mehtab Singh (Jalandhar, Punjab) and Giani Jagdev Singhji, Head Granthi, GSS Secunderabad and other reputed Ragi Jathas who were specially invited from various parts of the country for the important occasion recited Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) and delivered Gurbani Vichar that stressed on imbibing the higher values of life and communal harmony for which Guru Nanak Deviji strived.

They also have thrown light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus who stood for national integration, peace, brotherhood and communal harmony. They asked devotees to follow the teachings of Guru Gobind Singhji which are very relevant these days.

After the culmination of the congregation, the traditional Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) was served to all the devotees where devotees sit in same row with great discipline promoting the feelings of togetherness, fraternity and concern for fellow human beings.
