Jagan group may try to pull down govt Hyderabad: The YSR Congress party which maintained silence on Thursday now seems to be getting into battle mode and take on the government and pull it down sooner than later.
The Party leaders are busy evaluating their strength and mobilise all pro-Jagan MLAs in the Congress party before taking the extreme step of submitting their resignation from the Assembly and push the government into minority.
They are also working out strategies to launch agitations against the government and take the issue of the 'jet speed' shown by the state government in getting CBI probe ordered into Mr Jaganmohan Reddy's assets to the people.
A delegation consisting of senior party leaders will meet the Governor, Mr ESL Narasimhan, on Saturday to apprise him of the CBI's rapid move in searches which raised several doubts.
This would be followed by a dharna on September 2, the day when former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy was killed in a chopper crash in 2009 and a massive public rally at Parade grounds in Secunderabad during the second week of September.
The party leaders, including Balineni Srinivas Reddy, Ambati Rambabu, Shobha Nagi Reddy, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and others held an emergency meeting to review the situation arising out of the CBI searches on Jagan and the business ventures held by his other family members since Thursday.
About 16 MLAs of the Congress party who owe allegiance to Jagan attended the Friday meeting. They include, D Chandrasekhara Reddy, D Krishna Das, K Bharati, K Surekha, Shobha Nagi Reddy, Adinarayana Reddy, P Ravi, G Bapu Rao Srikanth Reddy. MLC J Prabhakara Rao also attended the emergency meeting.
According to Mr Srinivas Reddy, the Congress MLAs supporting Jagan would resign from the Assembly provided they can mobilise the support of more than 90 MLAs. They say that if the number was less than that, the TDP which they allege has connived with the Congress party would come to the rescue of Kiran Kumar Reddy.
If the government had to be pulled down then they should have the support of more than 90 MLAs, Mr Reddy said. However, a final decision in the matter would be taken at a meeting on August 22 after Jagan returns from the Odarpu Yatra that is now on in Krishna district.
All MLAs, MPs and MLCs supporting Jagan, party senior leaders, Central Governing Council (CGC) members, district in-charges will attend the meeting.
Party senior leader and former minister Pilli Subhashchandra Bose, Konda Surekha and Srinivasa Reddy, addressing the media, lashed out at the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu.
The YSR Congress leaders alleged that lands have been allocated to Emaar Properties during Naidu's regime. They questioned the reasons for not ordering probe into the role of TDP in land allocations.
'Naidu and his family members and the ministers in the present cabinet also own plots in the Emar properties,' they said. Meanwhile, Srinivasa Reddy, Sobha Nagireddy and MLC Jupudi Prabhakar met the chief minister at his camp office and submitted a memorandum seeking a CBI probe against the ministers of the erstwhile YSR cabinet.
