TRS to turn up heat on Congress MLAs

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi leadership is closely observing the political developments, particularly those in the Congress and in the YSRC, and is understood to have decided to utilise the situation to provoke Telanagana Congress leaders into resigning afresh on the statehood issue.

Party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is regularly monitoring the situation and is veering to the conclusion that it was right time now to turn the heat on the UPA on Telangana issue.

TRS sources said that if 15 Congress MLAs dared to resign it would become inevitable for the central government to come down to settle the Telangana issue. KCR gave directions to party leaders on how to suffocate Telangana Congress leaders by utilising the fluid political situation arising out of the resignations of 29 MLAs of Jagan group.

TRS leaders specially targeted Telangana Congress MLAs, especially those branded as hardcore loyalists of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. On this issue the TRS leaders completed several rounds of discussions with Telangana Congress MLAs.

Speaking at a meeting at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday, KT Rama Rao said Telangana Congress MLAs should draw lesson from the resignations of 25 Congress MLAs who decided to quit in support of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and wondered whether at least 25 Telangana Congress MLAs would resign in support of the Telangana demand.

TRS leadership thinks that AICC president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will return to Delhi by the end of August, and wants to put pressure on the UPA government again for Telangana. TRS leaders said that TJAC would start Sakala Janula Samme in the second week of September and that would exert pressure on Telangana Congress leaders to sumit resignations afresh.

Telangana JAC is also planing to take protest programmes against Congress MLAs to force them to resign and take part in the Sakala Janula Samme. Congress MPs G Vivekananda and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and others agree with TRS. "If the Congress is not ready to settle the Telangana issue they will start the Telangana agitation again,'' Rajagopal Reddy said.

Apart from all these efforts, the TRS is slowly intensifying its attack on the Congress. Its leaders T Harish Rao, Viajayashanti, E Rajendar and KT Rama Rao are seriously attacking Congress party on T.

TRS leader P Srinivas Reddy and TJAC leaders protested against unveiling of a Rajiv Gandhi statue in Banswada town in Nizamabad district. Major irrigation minister P Sudarshan Reddy managed to unveil the statue with police help . Similar incidents took place in several constituencies.
