Kiran tides over the August storm Hyderabad: Chief Minister Kiran Ku'mar Reddy has successfully tides over the August Crisis. Taking Chira'njeevi into the Congress fold worked in his favour.
August used to be the crisis period for many ministries since NTR. YSR Congress leader Konda Surekha earlier said that the days of the Congress party were numbered. 'The Kiran government is going to face a crisis in the month of August. The Congress will not be in power,' she had predicted.
Surekha said, in fact, the Congress had disqualified itself from ruling on the day the PRP merged with it. 'It has no moral right to continue,' she had said.
But morality is at discount these days. The tactful CM has managed to cro'ss all the hurdles so far. If rep'orts are to be believed he is in Delhi today to finalise the proposed Cabinet expansion whi'ch has been pending for some time. He recently, met all the first time MLAs at the Secretariat and assured them of all the cooperation from the government for the development of their constituencies.
Kiran was also equally successful on containing the T-agitations. It looks like the agitators have taken a break for the time being. If this continues till December, it will be a major achievement for the Kiran government.
It is learnt that Kiran has asked party cadres to get in touch with former MLAs. There is a chance that some former MLAs might contest in the proposed by elections for Congress.
At the same time Kiran Kumar held the opposition in control. Chandrababu Naidu could not encash on the crisis prevailing in the Congress. Instead, Babu is facing allegations that he is hand in glove with the Congress for isolating Jagan.
