Gali and Raju shares food Hyderabad: The disgraced former chairman of Satyam Computers B Ramalinga Raju is sharing the specially made food for him with the Bellary mining baron and former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.
Raju has been lodged in the Old Hospital block at Chanchalguda prison since 2009 and is enjoying B-class prisoner status. Incidentally, Janardhan Reddy has also been sent to the same prison and lodged in D-4 block, which is a few yards away from Raju's block.
Since Raju is a B-class prisoner, he and his team can cook separately with special supplies of groceries. Also, Raju and his team have been getting specially ordered chicken, mutton and varieties of fish every day, said prison sources.
Since both the scamsters have become friends from day one as they are spending most of their time at prison superintendent Keshava Naidu's office, Reddy and his associate B V Srinivasa Reddy have been allowed by the prison authorities to share Raju's food at the Old Hospital block, much against the prison norms.
Since they have a lot of swindled money with them, Raju's team and the Reddys' had been buying 'Kinley' branded packaged drinking water in bulk, sources said.
Sources also said that the prison superintendent had instructed his assistant not to enter his room without being called during duos' presence in his room.
It was at this time the high-profile criminals are accessing mobile phones, the sources said. The sources further said that a computer with an Internet connection was available at the prison superintendent's office. However, it is not known whether GJR had any access to the Internet.
