'Anywhere registration' to cover all cities Hyderabad: The Stamps and Registrations Department is planning to extend the 'anywhere registration' facility to more cities and towns in the State, according to the Principal Secretary (stamps and registrations), Mrityunjay Sahoo. He said that the facility was successfully tried out in Viskhapatanam city.
It facilitates registration of properties from any of the registrar offices within the city limits. Despite certain limitations, it has been giving the desired results.
The department has been building facilities in other places also, for extending the facilities in a phased manner. Without facilities and proper infrastructure, it may prove to be a failure, he said adding that 'anywhere registration' facility was different from the online one.
It would facilitate the registration of properties from any sub registrar or registrar offices of one's choice. He said that the department has plans to appoint more notaries in the State. Some 13,000 notaries have already been catering to the needs of the common public.
Candidates who fulfill the conditions to be a notary would stand a chance for consideration for appointment. The need for more notaries was being felt increasingly in the districts, as they were relatively larger in size in the State.
He explained that the supply of stamp papers was hit because of the Sakala Janula Samme in one or two places. Moves are afoot to set the situation right.
The officials concerned were asked to initiate special measures to overcome the problem. The requirement of stamps was being indicated by the respective departments well in advance.
There would not be any problems as far as the stamps of small denominations were concerned as Rs 10 and Rs 20 stamps were printed locally while those of Rs 100 and Rs 200 were being indented from Nasik. Complaints of stamp paper shortage received from Vizianagaram district were being attended to.
Mr Sahoo said that the Sakala Janula Samme (general strike) had impacted the stamps and registrations revenue considerably in the Telangana region. The loss was as much as Rs 6 to Rs 7 crore per The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad would account for nearly 30 per cent of the revenue loss.
