Chiru tastes the 'politics' of Congress Hyderabad: Since he is 'Chiranjeevi' (immortal) he could afford to be patient, seems to be the line the Congress leadership has taken towards Chiranjeevi who turned in his three year old party lock, stock and barrel to the Congress Party recently.
The latest disappointment comes in the form of rejection of his candidate Vidyadhar Rao for the MLC, and that surprises nobody but himself. He has now to be content with his lone MLC Ramachandriah.
The Big Boss of Tollywood was stunned when the PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayna called on him and explained why his candidate could not be given the upper house.
This has become a routine for him ever since he merged with the Congress. The Congress in-charge for AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad is said to have told Chiranjeevi earlier that in the Congress things happen slowly and Chiru must wait to be rewarded.
His friends and well wishers drop a word in private that their leader is too naive and innocent for 'politricks.' One of his cronies said, 'In cinema he has only to wear grease paint or a wig but in politcs he needs a mask and a thick skin.'
It is not easy for Chiranjeevi to get things done if he continues in this manner is the common belief. They are afraid the 'uncrowned king' of the tinsel world is a cypher in Congress politics. Till now, Chiru was feeling that he would be held high by the Congress party.
Now Chiranjeevi's Congress MLA from Tirupati should be prepared for many more such humiliations and set aside his pride and dignity, if he wants to be rewarded. Keep smiling, Chiru, say the wise old people of the G cap camp smugly.
