Collectors' meet turns ministers rachabanda Hyderabad, Dec 16 (INN): The Collectors Conference has brought to the fore many issues, if not of the people, of the government at least.
Initially the Conference was a sort of get together and know together of who is who in the government along with ministers and the status of welfare activity and the like.
After NTR came to power, the maverick in him has changed the system from in-camera to open for all affair.
However, the press was invited only to the opening remarks and rest of the session was a closed door affair and the practice continues still.
The only difference being, Kiran Kumar Reddy who came unscathed from the vote of no confidence has emerged as a person with rejuvenated vigour and those who were forced to be calm or whatever be the reason have been the venting their anger at every given platform, the Collectors Conference being one.
The reports of ministers indulging in a dual with collectors and the like though leaked or otherwise, speak with clarity the state of affairs in the cabinet is in.
Ever since the death of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the cabinet was not the same again. There was an open revolt in the K Rosaiah cabinet and there seems to be lot of dissent in the present dispensation.
Collectors Conference is held in order the take stock of welfare and other priority schemes of government programmes and lay down new guidelines for the coming days and the incharge minister follows it up.
Whatever be the usual norm, things seem to have taken a detour, while the Chief Minister's confidence levels have soared, going by his body language and the firmness in his voice when he speaks.
This is a positive sign and will go a long way and will yield better results, should he carry others view with him, to do the least.
