Sunil Reddy, another tough nut to crack Hyderabad: His job was to deliver bags from point to point without asking questions. In case the delivery was abruptly cancelled, he had to keep the bag safely with him until further orders.
Allegedly trained by Vijay Sai Reddy in handling huge cash with ease, N Sunil Reddy, known as 'transporter' in Jagan's camp, may prove to be another tough nut to crack for the CBI which has high hopes of getting some valuable information from him on the role of some 'bigwigs' in the Emaar Properties-APIIC and Jagan Mohan Reddy assets cases. If the CBI strikes success in making Sunil Reddy talk, it could prove 'disastrous' for Jagan's camp, it is believed.
Sources disclosed that so far, Sunil Reddy has neither disclosed anything on the Kadapa MP's business transactions nor given out any information pertaining to the Emaar-APIIC scam, wherein he is alleged to have played a key role in receiving and transporting huge cash from one place to the other.
Though Sunil Reddy conspired with Koneru Prasad, who is already jailed in connection with the Emaar scam, and reportedly collected cash to the tune of at least `100 crore on the instructions of Prasad, sources said that Sunil came in contact with Prasad through a confidant of YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
'Sunil used to take instructions either from Vijay Sai Reddy or this confidant of late YSR, and never took instructions from anyone else,' the sources said, adding that he used to operate in such a manner that even his family members would not be aware of what he was up to.
Sunil is said to own a flat at Banjara Hills which he used to stock the baggages for brief periods. 'He would not allow any family member to go into the room and clean the room himself after locking himself in. The kind of cash he has handled may even baffle the income tax department,' a source associated with the probe said.
Sources, however, insist that the state intelligence wing got wind of Sunil Reddy's operations but remained mute spectators as YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the chief minister.
The CBI is bent on having Sunil under its custody for further interrogation but sources said it may not be easy for the agency to break his silence since he has been 'trained' to evade all queries by the agency and interrogation may go the Vijay Sai way.
