'Son-stroke' hits Mukesh, Anjan Hyderabad: The fight for political hegemony between the Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav and the Minister for Marketing Mukesh Goud took a new turn on Tuesday and resulted in locking of horns.
The Minister told media that in 2014 elelctions he would contest from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency while Anjan Kumar Yadav would contest for the assembly from Musheerabad constituency.
The minister also announced that his son would also enter the assembly from another constituency.
Angry over this 'uncalled for statement,' by the Minister, Yadav said that he was shocked at this kind of statement.
He said, 'I do not know what made the minister to talk like that. No elections are round the corner and he is not the authority to decide who will contest from where.'
The MP said, 'Mukesh is neither AICC president Sonia Gandhi nor is he the AICC incharge of state affairs Gulam Nabi Azad to make such announcements.
Yadav said in 2004 when the party was looking for a candidate, all had run away and no one dared to contest. He said he had won from this constituency twice and with highest majority.
The AICC president has recognised my services to the party and it is for her to take a final decision. 'Secunderabad is not the jagir of Mukesh,' Yadav said.
Party insiders say that this war of words, which are unlikely to end soon, is because both the leaders are trying to see that their son's become the president of the State Youth Congress.
The party high command is to take a decision on the name of the new Youth Congress president in place of TJR Sudhakar, whose term would end soon.
