Mahbubnagar by-poll turns a battle of nerves Mahbubnagar: Contrary to earlier expectations the scenario in Mahbubnagar by-poll, after so many twists, turns into a batlle of nerves for all parties, including TRS.
As the leaders of various political parties have been striving in seeking support to their respective candidates, the fight in the Mahbubnagar by-poll has been picking up and the result would not be a one sided affair, political analysts say.
Candidates of TRS, Congress, TDP and BJP are vying to win from the Assembly constituency. Senior leaders from the parties are likely to visit the constituency in the coming week, before March 15.
TRS candidate Syed Ibrahim is hopeful of winning the seat. Though, he was defeated in 2009 polls, people would support him this time due to prevailing Telangana sentiment. The sentiment for separate state has percolated even in rural areas besides government employees, he said.
TRS leaders Etela Rajender, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, Somarapu Satyanarayana are expected to campaign in the town in the coming week.
The tour of K Chandrasekhar Rao would likely tilt the scales in favour of TRS. Party's local leaders Niranjan Reddy, Jitender Reddy, Bekkam Janardhan and Vithalrao Arya have already been campaigning.
Congress candidate Muthyala Prakash was seeking the support of voters by assuring that he would strive for construction of by-pass road in the town, four-lane road from Boothpur to One Town (in Mahbubnagar) and for other development works.
The constituency witnessed considerable development during Congress rule, he said. Congress has its own vote bank. A considerable section of voters from Minorities may support the Congress.
Congress councilors in the town, for the past 20 years, have been maintaining good relations with the common people.
Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, MLC Jagadeeswar Reddy, MLAs Choulapalli Prathap Reddy and other leaders are expected to campaign in the town.
TDP candidate P Chandrasekhar, hailing from a Backward Community, is also non-controversial. The party has its hold in rural areas and also in the town for the past 30 years.
BJP candidate Yennam Srinivasa Reddy has been trying to split the TRS votes. `The BJP would continue to strive for formation of separate Telangana if it comes to power at the Centre', he said.
He was hopeful that the votes of TDP would also split and would help him to win. Srinivasa Reddy earlier worked as district president of TRS and has been maintaining relations with the party cadres among youth.
BJP contributed for the success of the candidate from the segment in the earlier poll also.
