Leaders question Naidu's RS choice Hyderabad: The TDP politburo's decision to select C M Ramesh and T Devender Goud for the two Rajya Sabha seats from the State, which the party would win, has resulted in serious differences among the senior party leaders, who are seething with anger.
While CM Ramesh is a close confidant of Naidu and a businessman, Goud has been in TDP, since its formation in 1982 by N T Rama Rao and was a minister in the governments headed by N T Rama Rao and Naidu. He was the home minister in Naidu's government
Leaders like Talsani Srinivas Yadav, K E Krishnamurty, Nama Nageswara Rao and Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, in fact met Naidu in the evening and expressed their dissatisfaction over the selection of candidates.
They are understood to have told Naidu that if he does not change his attitude, the party cannot come to power in 2014 as well. Naidu has turned TDP into a party of contractors, he said. The party is giving importance and seats only to contractors ignoring hard working party leaders, Rao said.
T Srinivas Yadav said that he had expressed his displeasure to Naidu. Refusing to comment, he said let the final announcement come and then I will react. Srinivas Yadav was unhappy over the name of Devender Goud.
He said it is unfortunate that the party president ignored a loyal party worker like him, who has been with the party during its difficult times and picked on Goud, who had left the party, abused him and then came back to the party fold. Later, Naidu called the politburo members and had a one on one meeting with them over the names.
