'Elder's turn eyes and ears of Congress HC Hyderabad: Caught between the devil and deep sea, the Congress high command seems to be in desperate mood to search for some reliable persons from the State, who can execute its agenda and directions with utmost loyalty.
The Delhi bosses, who have taken direct charge of affairs for the by-polls, are unable to cobble up things and galvanise its cadre.
The high command is not in a position to trust the state leadership which is totally divided and in a state of utter disarray. With great difficulty, it could arrange a temporary truce between the two warring horses.
Even to this day, the things have not improved and both CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana are still at loggerheads although for public consumption they 'appeared' to be united.
The central leadership could not take the help of Congress' Lok Sabha MPs either, as majority of them have been busy with the issue of bifurcation.
MPs from the Telangana region have been giving many sleepless nights to high command on statehood issue and the Seemandhra MPs are indifferent to take up any responsibility.
With all main line options closed, the high command was left with no choice, but to bank heavily on party's Rajya Sabha MPs. Perhaps with a sense of gratitude or to keep the bosses in good humour, they are also greatly enthused to work as per the agenda fixed by the top brass.
Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel have assigned specific responsibility to each RS MP from the State.
JD Seelam has been entrusted with the job of coordinating SC, ST MLAs, leaders to ensure the voter's remain with Congress does not drift towards Jagan party.
He also played a key role in projecting Rajasekhara Reddy as anti-dalit and as the one who never thought of Dalit uplift with measures like SC/ST sub plan.
Palvai Govardhan Reddy, the recently-elected, was all eyes and ears to Vayalar Ravi all through. Ravi even went to his house and had dinner.
It was Palvai's letter to Sonia Gandhi that the situation had been slipping out of Congress that made the High Command act swiftly and depute Ravi. The septuagenarian leader was also fuming against his LS collegues for what he called as blackmailing Sonia on Telangana issue.
Rapolu Anand Bhaskar, also a new entrant, has been in touch with Rahul Gandhi and has been reportedly mailing him all the happenings of State Congress. Bhaskar is a said to be a daily reporter to the young general Secretary, who is said to be keen on streamlining the system.
V Hanumantha Rao, as usual, has been entrusted with the job of targeting the bete noir Jagan and he is taking the job seriously and going all-out against Jagan on on various issues.
Chiranjeevi is tasked to counter Jagan with huge mass rallies in all the seats, where by-polls are scheduled to be held. He will go on rigorous campaigning shortly.
Renuka Choudhury, also a direct representative of the high command, has been using her good offices in persuading the dissatisfied lot and coordinating senior leaders of Rayalaseema region.
And of course, KVP Ramachandra Rao is also said to be regularly speaking to all the district leaders of by-poll seats and is involved in poll strategy in tune with the high command.
This way, the high command is trying to monitor the situation but PCC sources are skeptical about the game plan and maintaining a wait and watch policy.
